Basic Policy
Swift Digital Sevices recognises that our work may have a direct or indirect effect on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to reducing any harmful effects on the environment and promoting the understanding of sustainability in its broadest context.
We recognise that the pursuit of economic growth and a healthy environment must be closely linked, and that ecological protection and sustainable development are collective responsibilities in which businesses, governments, individuals and communities all have a role to play. Therefore we will continue to maintain and improve our system to conform to the requirements of our customers, legislation and other regulations relating to our environmental aspects.
Action Guideline
We currently operate a common sense initiative ‘if its not needed, switch it off, applying to lights, machinery, mobile phone chargers, heating, air conditioning and the like, in an effort to minimize energy usage.
We only use suppliers who can demonstrate an environmentally friendly operation.
We have put into place a ‘paper lifecycle’ management scheme, whereby all paper usage is kept to a minimum by using electronic mail, purchase orders etc and duplex printing-copying whenever possible. All waste paper is transported to the local recycling bin.
We have established a communication process in order that environmental issues and information is effectively managed both internally and with external interested parties.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle… by Re-education |
In the disposal of customers redundant or otherwise unwanted equipment (WEEE), we fully comply with the requirements of The Waste and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006.
Wherever possible redundant equipment which has not reached end of life is disposed of for reuse/refurbishment to accredited resellers within the European union.
Equipment which has reached end of life is disposed of under the arrangements made by the relevant manufacturer under the WEE directive.
